Roofer in Hightown
Hightown is one of our nearest areas — a short drive down the coast from our Duke Street base in Formby. We’ve been carrying out roofing work across L38 for decades, and the combination of proximity and repeat business means we know the village’s housing stock well. Older village cottages and farmhouses with their original slate or plain tile. Inter-war and post-war detached and semi-detached properties. More recent builds around the village edges. Each needs a different approach and each gets one.
The L38 location brings coastal exposure, though with a slightly different character to Formby or Southport. The dunes and the nature reserve give some shelter from the direct westerlies, but the salt air still finds its way through. Pointing deteriorates faster than it would inland. Ridge tiles work loose. Flat roofs on extensions need materials specified for conditions that are more demanding than standard guidance assumes.
In a village this size, word travels quickly. We’ve maintained a good reputation in Hightown over many years and every job is done by us directly — the same father and son team that surveys and quotes the work carries it out.
Because we are based in Formby, Hightown is one of the areas where our response time for emergencies is fastest. Storm damage, sudden leaks, tiles off overnight — we can often attend the same morning. For genuine roof emergencies in Hightown, call us directly on 07596 884288 rather than using the form. Or WhatsApp us a photo of the damage at any hour — we can often give you an initial view of what’s happening and whether it needs immediate attention before we arrive.

Common questions
What customers say
“Village cottage in Hightown — original slate roof with some slippage and a chimney letting water in. They assessed it properly and gave us a clear recommendation. Repair rather than replacement, which is what it needed. Honest advice.”
Hightown, L38
“Detached property in Hightown, full re-roof after a survey confirmed the felt had failed and the tiles were becoming brittle. Completed in two days, site left spotless, 10-year written guarantee. Professional from start to finish.”
Hightown, L38
“Storm damage lifted several ridge tiles. WhatsApped Select Roofing at 8pm, they responded within the hour and were on site by 9am the next morning. Made it safe, came back to complete the repair. Brilliant — exactly what you want from a local firm.”
